Gerald Eliott Seegars

Graveside services for Gerald Eliott Seegars, 73, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010, in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dale Myers will officiate.

Mr. Seegars died Tuesday, December 21, at his home. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Jesse Coleman Seegars and Rebecca Eliott Seegars Robinson. Mr. Seegars was retired from Bowater, a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and served in the US Coast Guard.

Surviving are 2 sons; Doug Seegars (Beth) of Lancaster, Jon Seegars of Kershaw and a daughter; Fran Dandridge of Monroe, N.C., 4 grandchildren; Jessica Hancock (Josh), Sarah Seegars, Laura Seegars and Shannon Dandridge, 2 great grandchildren; Lily Anne Hancock and Leo Hancock, a brother; Bert Seegars (Audrey) of Florence, 2 sisters; Glenda Gay (Harold) Lancaster and Naomi Robertson (Gerald) of Kershaw.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 603 Oak Ridge Church Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 or the charity of one's choice.
