Furman N. Hinson

Funeral services for Furman N. Hinson, 77, will be held Thursday, March 29, at 3:00 p.m. at Abney Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends and family may call at the home. Memorials may be made to Abney Baptist Church Building Fund, 5180 Bethune Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067. Mr. Hinson died Monday, March 26 in Carolinas Medical, Charlotte, N.C. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late William N. and Lillie Mae Brasington Hinson. Mr. Hinson had retired from Heath Springs Telephone Company ,was a member of Abney Baptist Church and a US Marine Corp veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish. Surviving are his wife, Grace G. Hinson; son, David Hinson (Darla); daughter, Debbie Johnson (Lee) both of Lancaster; step-sons, Mike Outen of Lancaster, and Bennie Outen of Valley Head, Al.; step-daughter, Kay Catoe (Chris) of Kershaw; sister, Ruth Adams of Lancaster; 8 grandchildren, Mandy Gamble, Brian Hinson, Keri Bailes, Tabetha Thompson, Jennifer Thompson, Kimberly Thompson, Gerald Gutgsell, Jaylen Outen, Alaric Outen; 8 great grandchildren, Autumn, Kennan, Emma, Lily, Leland, Gabriel, Haili and Anthony. He was predeceased by brothers, Edward, Heyward, and Odell Hinson; sisters, Fannie Outen, Elsie Whitley, and Iva Mae Vincent; step-grandchild, Nikki Outen.
