Funeral services for Fred Carroll Brazell, age 82, of Kershaw, will be held, Thursday, September 26, at 4:00 o’clock p.m., in the sanctuary of Oakhurst Baptist Church, Heath Springs, where he was a member. Rev. John Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends, one hour prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 3:00 o’clock p.m. in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.
Mr. Brazell, loving husband of 61 years to Joycie Faye Catoe Brazell passed away, Tuesday morning, September 24, at his home. Born in the Pleasant Hill community of Heath Springs, he was a son of Walter Jackson Brazell and Mary Etta Faile Brazell. Mr. Brazell was a graduate of Heath Springs High School and a self-employed painter. He loved to garden and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed eating all kinds of sweets.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 daughters, Ann Brazell (Scott Dabney) Taylor of Kershaw, Jenny Brazell (Terry) Whetstone of Kershaw; 3 grandchildren, Holly Brooke Taylor, Olivia Whetstone Bagwell and Spencer Whetstone; 3 step-grandchildren, Karen Wingo, Ashley Broome and Roger Dale Broome; a great-granddaughter, Paisleigh Bagwell and 2 step-great grandchildren, Kyndal Caskey and Sydney Wingo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tony Carroll Brazell and 9 brothers and sisters.
