Funeral services for Frank Joseph Wells, age 70 of Bethune, will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Westville. The Revs. Terry Corder and Donnie Barrett will officiate.

Mr. Wells passed away, Sunday morning, September 22, at his home. Born in Woburn, MA, he was a son of the late Frank L. Wells and Mildred Frances Burnet Wells. He was a radio broadcaster, a semi truck driver and owned Solid Gold Time Machine. Mr. Wells enjoyed karaoke, fishing, hunting and playing music for poker runs. He was an avid Patriots fan and Clemson fan. Mr. Wells loved NASCAR, his favorite drivers were, Ryan Newman, Dale Earnhardt, SR. and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was a member the V.F.W in Hickory, N.C. and later the V.F. W. in Sumter and was a member of V.V.A. Mr. Wells served during the Vietnam Era in the United States Army.

Surviving are his wife, Sara S. Wells; his son, Charlie Reese Wells and his wife Shelby; a step-daughter, Julie Harris and fiancé ,Tim Maddox ; a step-son, Hunter (Kelsy) Moore; a grandson, Colt Trenton Wells; step grandchildren, Emily Harris and companion Sara White, Brianna Harris, Haley Strappler, Kayla Campbell, Lauren (Johnathan) Tidwell and Slade Mixon; 4 brothers, Keith (Patricia) Wells, Kevin (Laurie) Wells, Chris (Celine) Wells and Michael Wells. Also surviving are his step brother-in-law, Jeff Strappler; mother-in-law, Dorothy Self Sullivan; special nieces and nephews, Jamie Gainey and companion, Tim Carmichael, Melody Shropshire and Adrian Sullivan and his wife’s brothers and sisters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Dustin Trenton Redick and 2 sisters, Sharon King and Karen Wells.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home and following the service in the Bethany Baptist Church Family Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansa 66675-8517.
