Frances Faile Truesdale Davis

A graveside service for Frances Faile Truesdale Davis, 67, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 7, 2011, in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Mrs. Davis died Sunday, November 6, in Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Leander “L.A.” Faile and Eva Mae Pigge Faile. Mrs. Davis had a 25 year career in banking. She served as loan officer, branch manager and vice president in her career. Mrs. Davis served in both Palmetto Savings and Loan Bank and First Citizens Bank. She also retired from Kanawha Insurance Co. as executive secretary to the Senior Vice President of Marketing. She was the first woman to hold the offices of branch manager of the bank in Kershaw and President of the Kershaw Chamber of Commerce. She served two terms on the Kershaw Town Council and served as a member of the Advisory Council for the Vocational Department of Andrew Jackson High School. She also served as past trustee of First Baptist Church where she was a member. Surviving are her two children; Beverly T. Culp and her husband Dr. Steve Culp of Lancaster, David L. Truesdale and his wife Rhonda of Kershaw, five grandchildren; Ben Culp, Katy Beth Culp, Jordan Truesdale, Jessica Truesdale and Jennifer Truesdale, her sister; Ann F. Young of Kershaw and her brother; Jerry E. Faile (Pat) of Lugoff. She was preceded in death by three brothers; William “Bill” Faile, Toy Faile, Hazel L. Faile and a sister; Pauline F. Neeley. The family would like to thank her special friend, Clyde Vincent and her caretaker Dot Truedale for the love and concern they have shown.
