Faye West Bennett, 96, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Sunday morning, December 11, 2022, in White Oak Manor-Lancaster, where she had been a resident for a short time. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Dalton C. West and Winnie Crow West. Mrs. Bennett worked in the textile industry for a brief period but devoted most her time to being a homemaker.
She was an active member of Center Grove Baptist Church where she loved her church family. She spent many hours gardening, growing tomatoes, strawberries and sunflowers. She also loved dance, especially the Shag.
She is survived by her son, Randall “Randy” Bennett and his wife, Faye of Inman, S.C.; 4 grandchildren, Christina Faye Bennett and her husband, Christopher Lowman, David Bennett and his wife, Kristen, Emily Bennett-Brooks and her husband, Justin and Gregory Bennett; 4 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Jane, Emma Alane, MaKayla and Scarlet.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Jack Evans Bennett, her son, Richard Dalton ”Dickie” Bennett, her granddaughter, Kimberly Anne Bennett and siblings, J.W. West, D.T. West, Ernest Calvin West and Myrtle Faulkenberry.
A service to remember her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday morning, December 14, 2022, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden, S.C. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum following the service. Her nephew, Bobby Faulkenberry, Sr. and great nephew, Bobby Faulkenberry, Jr. will officiate at the service.
The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery.
