Evelyn Outen Gandy

Funeral services for Evelyn Outen Gandy,80, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 18, 2008, in Abney Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Dr. Todd Morris, Todd Gandy and Larry Plyler will officiate.

Mrs. Gandy died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in Palmetto Health Richland Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Rev. James Thomas and Ola Taylor Outen. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a homemaker. Mrs. Gandy served as financial secretary to Abney Baptist Church for 27 years where she was a member. She was also a member of the Sonshiners Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the W.M.U.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years; Otis Gandy, a son; Ray Gandy and his wife Ellie, a daughter; Myra Smith all of Kershaw, three grandchildren; Christy Holley and her husband Scott, Rev. Todd Gandy and his wife Melissa and Jaime Smith all of Kershaw and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters; Emma Taylor, Lessie Taylor, Ila Stogner and a brother; Hazel Outen

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, September 17, 2008, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home.
