Funeral Services for Evelyn Mattox Green, age 88 of Kershaw, will be held at 12:00 o’clock noon, Tuesday, November 19, 2019, in the sanctuary of Providence Baptist Church, Kershaw. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeremy Ussery will conduct the service.

The family will receive friends following the burial in the church Fellowship Hall.

Mrs. Green, widow of John Amos Green passed away, Sunday morning, November 17, at her home. Born in Ridgeway, she was a daughter of the late Belton Mattox and Mittie Rabon Mattox. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Baptist Church. Mrs. Green loved county music. She traveled twice to the Grand Ole Opry. She also enjoyed shopping, going on vacations and eating out.

Surviving are 5 children, John Wayne (Donna) Green, Susie (Leroy) Adams, Bobby (Kristen) Green, Charles (Reba) Green and Yvonne Ussery all of Kershaw; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Alberta Horton; a brother, Belton (Betty) Mattox and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents and her husband by 3 grandchildren, Daryl Green, Stuart Green and Cindy Lowery; a great granddaughter, Addison Mae Koss; 2 sisters, Dorothy Branham and Christine McNeely and 5 brothers, Lewis Mattox, George Mattox, Frank Mattox, Sam Mattox and Richard Mattox.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Green may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 3334 Providence Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 of the charity of one’s choice.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Brian Green, Steven Green, Cole Robinson, Rhett Robinson, Jonathan Ussery and Matthew Ussery.
