Funeral services for Ethel Mical Hicks, 99, will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 1, in Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Jamie Rogers, Hugh McKinney and Don Knight will officiate.
Mrs. Hicks, widow of Braskey L. Hicks died Sunday, June 28. Born in Monroe, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Edward Pinkney and Jane Elizabeth Presley Mical. She was retired from Springs Industries and the oldest member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. She was a member of Kershaw Senior Citizens Group and the Kershaw Bowling Team.
Surviving are a son; Harry Hicks and his wife Ethel of Kershaw, 3 daughters; Jannette Hilliard of Heath Springs, Patsy Holden and her husband Willie of Camden, and Jewell Hagins and her special friend, Ken of Lancaster, 8 granddaughters; Jan Couch and her husband Mike, Cindy Reeves, Kathy Drye and her husband Rocky all of Heath Springs, Teresa Robinson and her husband Sonny of Lexington, Deborah Utectht and her husband Darren of Georgia, Crystal Griffin and her husband Jeff, Amy Baker and her husband Jim, Tara Lear and her husband Marty all of Lancaster, 5 grandsons; Mike Hilliard of Lancaster, Britt Hicks of Kershaw, Mark Hicks of Lancaster, Mitch Williams and his wife Carol of Kershaw and Greg Holden of Camden, 3 step grandchildren; Kathy Taylor, Beverly Arrant both of Lancaster and Eddie Small of Kershaw, 27 great grandchildren and 26 great- great grandchildren. Also surviving are a daughter in law; Virginia Hicks and a son-in-law; Harold Williams both of Kershaw and her loving caregiver and special friend; Jenny Branham. She was predeceased by a son; Edward Maurice Hicks and a daughter; Mary Ann H. Williams, 3 brothers; Charlie Wilson Mical, Edward Junior Mical and Willie Roscoe Mical and 2 sisters; Lillian Pauline Sistare and Annie Mae Deese.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, June 30, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son; 211 E. Richland Street, Kershaw.
