Ernest Joe Key

Funeral services for Ernest Joe Key, 64, will be held Sunday, January 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. Revs. Iva Mae Long and Donnie Barrett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Boone Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 22, from 4:00 -6:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mr. Key died January 18, at his residence. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late John Joseph and Allie Bass Key. Mr. Key was a self employed brick mason. He loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving are his wife, Margie Thompson Key; children, Betty Jean Key Railey (Lewis Earl Sr.) of Bethune, John Key (Geneva) Kershaw, William Lewis Key (Ann Ray) of Cassatt, Jimmy Dewayne Key (Tina) of Cassatt, and Tonia Merita Leonard of Cleveland, TN; 8 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; sisters, Carolyn Baxley of Newberry, Lillian Talbert of Bethune, Juanita Holley, of Kershaw, Geneva Mock of Cassatt, Sharon Atkerson of Hartsville, and Betsy Brown of Kershaw; brother, Mitchell Pierce of Camden. He was predeceased by a grandson, John Joseph Key, III and a brother.
