Ernest Franklin Austin

Mr. Ernest Franklin Austin, 81, of 1337 Scott Road, Kershaw, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008 at his home.
He was born June 6, 1927 in Lancaster to the late Virgil and Florrie Austin. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Abney Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Todd Morris, Rev. Wayne Flowers, and the Rev. Larry Plyer will officiate with burial in the church cemetery directed by Baker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the funeral home.
Mr. Austin was a member of Abney Baptist Church and retired from DuPont. Memorials may be made to the Kershaw County Hospice, 2001 W. Dekalb St., Camden, SC 29020 or to the Abney Baptist Church, 5180 Bethune Rd., Kershaw, SC 29067.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Audrey Clanton Austin; daughters, Janice of Lugoff, Charlotte McConnell (Lee) of New Bern; sons, Steve (Jean), Eddie (Betty), Donnie (Gwen) all of Kershaw; 3 brothers, J.V., Earl and Richard all of Kershaw; one sister, Louise Catledge of Kershaw; 7 grandchildren, Jessica Nunnery (Jeremy), Scotty, Ali, Brianna and Chad Austin, and Katie and Austin McConnell; 2 great-grandchildren, Sophie and Wesley Nunnery. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
