Eric Lee Payne

Eric Lee Payne, age 63 of the Pleasant Plains community, Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Thursday afternoon, September 21, 2023, at his home. Born in Lancaster, S.C., he was a son of the late James Lee Payne and Martha Love Payne. He was a sawyer. He was a member of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church. Mr. Payne enjoyed gardening, fishing, and helping others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cheryl Lynn Taylor Payne; his twin sons, Andrew Payne and his wife, Krystina and Matthew Payne and his wife, Rebecca; 4 grandchildren, Aaron Payne, William Payne, Lillith Payne, and Avaline Payne; his sister, Nancy Hewitt and her husband, Rev. Robin Hewitt and his brother, Gene Payne and his wife, Shirley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Payne.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, September 24, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Mr. Payne will be held on Monday afternoon, September 25, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. The Revs. Todd Montgomery, Richard Anthony, and Tyler Caines will officiate. A burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.
