Funeral services for Ellen Brandon Williams, 85 of Kershaw, will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor St., Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant D. Fersner will officiate. Mrs. Williams died Thursday, July 4, 2013. Born December 21, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Robinson and Lottie Pruett Brandon. She is survived by her husband; Steve Gardner Williams, Sr., a son; Steve, Jr. and his wife Kendra Flynn Williams of Camden, SC, a daughter; Nina and her husband Thomas Martin Runion, Sr. of Georgetown, SC, a sister; Agnes B. Weill of Camden, SC, 4 grandsons; Steve Gardner Williams, III, Thomas Martin Runion, Jr., Lee Flynn Williams and Evan Williams Runion, 3 granddaughters; Larsyn Lee Runion, Perri Ellen Runion and Kelsey Selena Williams. She was preceded in death by a brother; Lewis Robinson Brandon of Mobile, AL and a sister; Ruby B. Cooper of Inman, SC. Mrs. Williams was a member of First Baptist Church, the Ruth Sunday School Class, WMU and Women on Mission, Group Two. She was a charter member of the King Alfred Garden Club and a lifetime member of the South Carolina Garden Club, Inc. Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Winthrop University and taught school for thirty-four years in Heath Springs High School and Kershaw Elementary School. She was also a member of the Lancaster County Retired Educators Association. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Post Office Box 67 , Kershaw, SC 29067 or the L.C. R. E. A. Scholarship Fund, Lancaster, SC 29720. The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Baker Conference Center. The family would like to thank the staff at Morningside Assisted Living and A. Sam Karesh Wing for the love and care shown to Mrs. Williams.
