Mae Elizabeth Andrews Mozingo, age 101, of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at MUSC Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Hartsville, S.C. she was a daughter of the late Lawton Andrews and Willie King Andrews. Mrs. Mozingo was a homemaker, a seamstress at the Springs Mills Grace Bleachery (29 years), and a member of Heath Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending the Heath Springs Senior Center and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was married to the late Pendleton Bethea Mozingo.
She is survived by her son, Ray Mozingo of Heath Springs, S.C.; her daughter, Cynthia M. Pate of Lancaster, S.C.; 6 grandchildren, CMSgt. (Retired) Christopher (Tammie) Mozingo, USAF, of Kathleen, GA; Donna (Stephen) Peterson of Heath Springs, S.C., Dr. Deanna (Brad) Parish of Charleston, S.C., Rebecca (Todd) Williams of Lancaster, S.C., Wayne (Tina Davis) Pate of Lancaster, S.C. and Amanda (Derek Hart) Starnes of Lancaster, S.C.; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and a special nephew, Eddie (Lora) King of Camden, S.C. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Andrews and a sister, Dorothy Turner.
A graveside celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning, January 14, 2023, in Salem Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Rev. Dr. Frankie Melton will officiate.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the Heath Springs Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
