Elizabeth Mackey Truesdale

Funeral service for Elizabeth Mackey Truesdale, 85, will be held at 3:00 P.M. SATURDAY, June 21, 2008, in Salem United Methodist Church. Rev. Scott Cloninger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery.

Mrs. Truesdale ,wife of G.C. Truesdale , Jr. died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at her home. Born February 2, 1923, in Heath Springs, she was the daughter of the late Corinne Bruce and Andrew Ira Mackey. She attended Winthrop College and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where she previously taught Sunday School and was Financial Secretary for a number of years. Mrs. Truesdale retired from the Heath Springs Post Office as a postal clerk.

Survivors include her husband of the home, a daughter; Donna Spencer and her husband Gene of Blythewood, a son; Andy G. Truesdale of Heath Springs, two grandchildren; Jeffery Spencer of Myrtle Beach and Elizabeth Spencer of Columbia. She is also survived by a sister; Rebecca Burch of Gainesville, Ga. Mrs. Truesdale was predeceased by a sister; Helen Gregory.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 P.M. in the Church Fellowship Hall.
