Elizabeth Ellis Waites

Funeral service for Elizabeth Ellis Waites, 89, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 24, in Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Donald Coppedge and Mark Bredholt will officiate.

Mrs. Waites died Friday, May 22, at her home. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Lela Phillips Ellis. She was retired from Springs Industries and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was married to the late Eddie Woodrow Waites, Sr.

Surviving are two daughters; Mabel Welch of Frostproof, FL, Barbara Ray of Cassatt, three sons; Eddie Waites, Jr. of Lancaster, Henry Waites and James Waites both of Kershaw, a brother; Gene Ellis, six sisters; Iva Mae Bowers, Ruth Williams, Vera Lee Langley, Bonnie Snipes, Diane Sims and Vivian Cauthen all of Kershaw. She was preceded in death by a daughter; Elsie Dease, a son; Jerry Waites, a brother; L.J. Ellis and a sister; Margie Conyers.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 23, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home.
