Effie Mae Stroud Bowers age 75 of Kershaw, S.C., passed away Tuesday morning at her home on December 10, 2024, surrounded by family. Born in Kershaw, S.C. She was a daughter of the late Gilbert Samuel Stroud and Leatha Boone Stroud.

Mrs. Bowers had retired from the Kershaw County School District. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church where she was a member of the WMU, choir, and Chairperson of the Cemetery Committee. Mrs. Bowers enjoyed working at K.A.R.E., gardening, and spending time with her family.

Surviving is her husband, Ronald C. Bowers; 3 children, Jonathan Bowers (Debbie), Daniel Bowers (Jessica), and Tammy Rogers (Rod); 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Betty Flannigan and Terry Neely. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Peggy Williams, Shirley Faulkenberry, and Margaret Sims and 2 brothers, Tim Stroud and D.T. Stroud.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. The Reverends Todd Gandy and Larry Humphries will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, December 12, 2024, at Baker Funeral Home from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church, 3334 Providence Road, Kershaw S.C 29067.

Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home.
