Edward Bruce Catoe

Funeral services for Edward Bruce Catoe, 75 formerly of Charlotte, N.C. will be held at 2:00 P.M. TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2008, in Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. The Revs. Jamie Rogers and Earl Pennell will officiate.

Mr. Catoe died Friday, May 30, 2008, in Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, N.C. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Lola P. Snipes Catoe. He was retired from the US Postal Service in Charlotte, N.C. Mr. Catoe served his country in the US Army. He was a former member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for almost 50 years. He was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church where he was a member of the Friends Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his wife , Joyce F. Catoe of the home, 2 children ; Edward H. Catoe and his wife Sharon, Karen Murphy and her husband Greg all of Charlotte, N.C., 3 grandchildren ; Shawn Braswell of Charlotte, N.C., Wesley Catoe of Orlando, FL. and Brittany Murphy of Charlotte, N.C., 4 sisters ; Doris Baucom of Bennettsville, Louise Ingram of Lancaster, Marlene Hayes of Lancaster, Bonnie Robinson of Heath Springs and a brother, Connie Catoe of Kershaw. He was predeceased by brothers ; Charles Catoe, Ira Brown Catoe, Jack Catoe, Shannon Catoe and a sister ; Lucille Rollins.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 2, 2008 , from 7 to 9 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 (803-475-3771) and other times at the home, 264 Scout Cabin Road, Kershaw.
