Funeral services for Edna Louise Hunter Threatt, 98 of Spartanburg and formerly of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. The Revs. Hugh McKinney and Edgar Horton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Camden. Mrs. Threatt died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at her home, 7950 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC. Born May 9, 1915, in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas , Sr. and Ida Taylor Hunter. Mrs. Threatt was married to the late Amzy Clyde Threatt. Mrs. Threatt was of Baptist faith and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church where she served on the benevolence committee for a number of years. She loved music, her faith, children and her grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Threatt owned and operated Wayside Groceries in Kershaw for over 40 years. They served their community by providing for others. Surviving are her son, Aaron Clyde Threatt of Spartanburg; 3 grandchildren, Rodney Aaron Threatt , William Christopher Threatt and his wife Ashley and Adrian Geoffrey Threatt and his wife Monica all of Spartanburg; 5 great grandchildren, Ian, Abigail, Sydney, Mary Claire and Mason , 2 sisters; Shirley H. Robinson of Rock Hill and Pat H. Small of Florence. Mrs. Threatt was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Sue B. Threatt; 2 brothers, John Thomas Hunter, Jr., Jack Hunter and 2 sisters; Iva H. Horton and Evelyn H. Thompson. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, April 8, 2014, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton Street, Kershaw, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kershaw Second Baptist Church, 7737, Kershaw-Camden Highway, Kershaw, SC 29067.
