Edith Bradley (Joyce) Payne, 84, of the Mt. Pisgah community and currently a resident at Pinedale Residential Center, Camden, S.C. died Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Pinedale Residential Center. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late William Edward Bradley and Mary Emma Catoe Bradley. Mrs. Payne retired from Springs Industries and was a faithful member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, S.C. She loved reading, attending church, singing in the choir and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Connie G. Payne; 2 daughters, Deborah P. Thomas and her husband, Dennis of Bethune, S.C. and Rhonda P. Joyner and her husband, Gary of Kershaw, S.C.; 6 grandchildren, Candace Eubanks (Doug), Jamie Thomas (Kim), Nicholas Horton (Leah), Allen Thomas, Anna Croxton, (Luke) and Stephen Joyner (Caitlin); 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Heather Horton and 4 sisters, Merkie Ogburn, Marcie Stroud, Doris Gardner and Sue Joyner.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson, S.C. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Terry Corder, Bobby Joyner and Mr. Derial Ogburn will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the burial in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home of her daughter, Rhonda Joyner.
