Douglas Edward Schakett

Funeral services for Douglas Edward “Doug” Schakett, 65 of Kershaw will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013, at DeKalb Baptist Church, Camden. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Coates will officiate. Mr. Schakett died Friday, April 26, 2013 at his home. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Sanford and Vivian Barnes Schakett. He was a member of DeKalb Baptist Church and a avid Nascar fan. Doug retired as a electrician. Surviving are his wife; Patricia Phillips Schakett of the home, 2 sisters; Sandra Newsser and her husband Larry of Lancaster, Ohio, Pam Wallace of Lancaster, a brother; Sanford Schakett, Jr. of Gahanna, Ohio and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
