Funeral services for Dorothy Hunter Farmer Baker, 91, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker, widow of John Pressley Farmer and Edward Perry Baker died Saturday, April 15, 2017, in Kershaw Health, Camden, SC. Born in the Oak Ridge community of Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Haile and Carrie Knight Hunter. She retired from Springs Industries and was a faithful member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church. She also enjoyed cooking, vegetable and floral gardening.
Surviving are 2 sons, Roger G. Farmer and his wife Diana of Lancaster, SC, Jonathan M. Farmer of Kershaw, SC; 3 grandchildren, Brent Grayson Farmer, Kristen Leigh Farmer and Tyler Pressley Farmer; 2 great grandchildren, Emma Farmer and Anna Farmer and a brother, Charles Hunter. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Ella Williams, Lillie Ogburn, Viola Cole, Phyllis Cook and Sarah Hunter and 3 brothers, Carl E. “Buck” Hunter, Paul Hunter and Joe Hunter.
The family will receive friends, Monday, April 17, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
