Donald O. Copeland

Donald O. Copeland, 77, of Bethune, passed away, Monday, August 27, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Kellytown, on December 31, 1940, to the late W.E. and Matilda Copeland. He served in the United States Navy and served aboard the aircraft carrier, USS America. Mr. Copeland retired from E.I. DuPont in Camden in 1998.

He is survived by his brother, William (Barbara) Copeland of Conway; one sister, Marcia Mincey of Lexington and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend, Gwen Gainey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hayes, Gary and David Copeland and one sister, Jeanette Brannon.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Bethune. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
