Diane B. Portman

Diane Baker Portman, age 74 of Kershaw, S.C., widow of John Ray Portman, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Hartsville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late L.E. and Geneva Watkins Baker. Mrs. Portman loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching birds.

Surviving are sons; Sam Portman (Amy) and Eddie Portman; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Donnie Baker (Carol) and David Baker (Charlene) and sisters-in-law, Pauline Bankhead, Clida Holley, Linda Portman and Viola Baker. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Hedi Portman and son Ronnie Portman; brother, Rev. Jimmy Baker and 2 sisters, Jean Brown and Shirley Oneal.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 11:00 am in Baker Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery, Millcreek Road, Kershaw, S.C. The Revs. Robbie Taylor, Jewel Moore and Lela Reeves will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
