Diana Elaine Burgess Jenkins, 75, of Kershaw, SC and former 42-year resident of Naples, FL, passed away, Sunday, July 11, 2021, at her home in Kershaw, SC. A native of Jackson, MI, she was born to the late Duane Earl Burgess and Alverta Louise Nordman Burgess. Diane was married to her high school sweetheart, Thomas A. Jenkins, for 39 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (“Mimi”) and friend.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are 6 children, Christine A. Scanlin-Mitchell ( Edward ), Heather M. Weidenbruch ( Brian ), Jodi L. Sardina (Jason Smith), Nicole R. Hurley ( Zachary Skare ), Anthony B. Jenkins (Tiffany), and Stephanie C. Reiniche (Phillip); 16 grandchildren, Cheyenne E., Edward J., Gavin K., Lucas K., Dominic J., Elizabeth R., Spencer J., Madison R., Zade A., Hayden N., Thomas J. Gavin C., Elleanor B., Kayla S., Logan P. and Alexander X.; 2siblings, Harold E. Burgess (Cindie) and Edward F. Burgess (Cheryl) and her brother-in-law, Jack Wenman, Jr.. In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Wenman.
She was a champion dog show handler, trainer, breeder and groomer. As an artist, she sculpted, created porcelain dolls, fairies and entertained many other forms of artwork. Diana was an animal lover, but above all, she loved wolves, Poodles and Afghan Hounds. She enjoyed reading, and learning about new things among many other things, Diana was an avid collector of dream catchers, fairy figurines, angels and mythical creatures. She enjoyed her garden and watching her plants bloom every spring.
A service to remember and celebrate Diana’s life will be held August 1, 2021, at the Pavilion in Stevens Park, Close Circle, Kershaw, S.C..
