Derek Neil Hendrix

Funeral services for Derek Neil Hendrix, 41, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Baker Funeral Home Chapel, Kershaw. Burial will follow in Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Bryant Fersner and Dr. Donald McManus will officiate.



Mr. Hendrix died Friday, August 27, at his home in Irmo. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of Cecil (Joe) Bernard Hendrix and Marjorie Helms Hendrix. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He enjoyed decorating and photography.



Surviving in addition to his parents of Kershaw are his maternal grandfather; William E. Helms of Lancaster and an aunt; Myra Gleaton and her husband Cecil of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Walter and Ruth Hendrix and his maternal grandmother; Frankie Lucille Helms.



The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Baker Funeral Home.
