Deborah B. Ghent

Deborah Burton Ghent, age 67 of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Saturday morning, October 5, 2024, at PruittHealth Ridgeway, S.C. She was born, February 26, 1947, to the late Thomas Leslie “Tom” Burton and Gloria Dobbs Burton. Deborah was a Certified Nursing Assistant, an employee of Kanawha Insurance and a homemaker. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching football and baseball. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. 

She is survived by 2 daughters, Alicia Ghent Terry and her husband, James A. Terry of Lancaster, S.C. and Kimberly Ghent Waits and her husband, Robert E. Waits of Kershaw, S.C.; 6 grandchildren, Anthony Terry, Robert Colby Waits, Kylie Nicole Waits, Grayson Cole Ghent, Blaze Allen Ghent and Layton Tyler Ghent; her sister, Dianne Burton Ferguson of Clover, S.C. and 2 sisters-in-law, Carol Ghent of Lancaster, S.C. and Cheryl Ghent McAbee and her husband Tommy of Union, S.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Dewey Ghent; her son, William Cole “Billy” Ghent and a brother-in-law, Gene Ghent.

The family will hold a celebration of life service on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 3:00 o’clock p.m. in Douglas Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, S.C.
