David Nathan Vaughan, 51, of Columbia, SC, husband of Regina Lynn Gay Vaughan, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at his home in Columbia, South Carolina. He was raised in Kershaw by the late Lewis and Hattie Morgan and then adopted by Vivian Austin and the late Harold Austin of Columbia. David was very active in his church where he loved to greet people every Sunday. He loved to play golf, and was an avid Nascar and Gamecock fan. He also loved to ride horses with his wife and daughter Anna. David enjoyed spending time smoking cigars and playing guitar with his son Austin and his nephew John.
Surviving is his wife Regina Vaughan; his children Austin and Anna Vaughan; his sister Carla (Steven) Owens; his nephew John Owens; his nieces Neena, Mandy, and Millie Agrawal; his mother- in- law, Carolyn Gay; his sister- in- law, Peggy (Mike) McPherson, and his special friends, Chris Seay and Johnny Weldon.
The family extends special thanks to North Trenholm Baptist Church and Baker Funeral Home for their loving care. Also to extended family, Dave and Janine Wolfrum, Nina, and Nikki Loika.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.
The family will hold a service to celebrate his life at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Monday, May 15, 2017, at North Trenholm Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
The family will also receive friends, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, South Carolina.
