A memorial service to celebrate and remember the accomplished life of David Judson Ogburn, 67, of Kershaw and formerly of Charlotte, NC, will be held at 2:00 o’clock p.m., Sunday, March 18, in the sanctuary of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Jefferson where he was a member. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. Rev. Terry Corder will officiate.
David passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer at Wayne T. Patrick House, Rock Hill. Born in Monroe, NC, he was a son of Clarine Sullivan Ogburn Bradley and the late Milburn Judson Ogburn. He was a talented interior designer working for clients and companies across the United States. He loved to travel and read. David has a passion for classical music as he was a pianist himself. He also served on the Governor’s mansion renovations committee under former Governor James H. Hodges. His talent, his knowledge of design and caring nature will be missed.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Clarine and Marvin Bradley of Kershaw; his 3 siblings, Janice O. Conroy and her husband Jim of Waxhaw, NC, Wayne Ogburn of Columbia and Holley A. Williams and her husband Derrick of Greensboro, NC; 3 nieces, Rachel Conroy, Anna Ogburn and Michal Claire Williams and a nephew, Michael Conroy.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home.
