Funeral services for David Gerold Williams, 72 of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. The Revs. Jamie Rogers and Don Knight will officiate. Burial with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Mr. Williams died Thursday evening, November 14, at Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, S.C. Born in the Abney Community of Kershaw County, he was the son of the late Jack and Hattie Mae Stogner Williams. He retired as a Industrial Mechanic with DuPont Company and had served as a Magistrate for 27 years. He was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, Abney Lodge # 211 and Hejaz Temple. He also enjoyed working of his farm, nature and growing blueberries. Mr. Williams was a proud Marine having served his county during the Cuban Missile Crises. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Faile Williams of the home; his daughter, Pam Williams Neal and her husband Doug of Heath Springs; 2 grandchildren, Sean Neal and Lindsey Neal both of Heath Springs; his brother, Joel Williams and his wife Glenda of Greenville, S.C. and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margie W. Locke. The family will receive friends, Saturday, November 16, 2013, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 5314 Center Grove Road, Kershaw.
