David E. Craig

Funeral services for David Eugene Craig, 67, of Jefferson, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, August 16, 2012, at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. James Aldridge will officiate. Mr. Craig died Monday, August 13, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late James Clayton and Susie Arrington Craig. He retired from Teledyne-Allvac after 34 years of service. Mr. Craig served his country in the U S Navy for 10 years, serving during the Vietnam Era. During his service time he received the following metals; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Metal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal and National Defense Service Metal. He also loved to hunt and fish. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Ann B. Craig of the home, his children, Roy Craig of Kershaw, Jeanette Privette of Jefferson, Mike Craig of Lancaster, Billy Knight of Jefferson, Nancy Bowers of Kershaw, Crystal Sullivan (Dennis) of Jefferson, Tanya Knight of Jefferson; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 8 siblings, Bruce Craig of Lancaster, Evelyn Rhodes of Ruby, Mildred Wright of Chesterfield, Doris Melton of Ruby, Martha Griffin of Lancaster, Donnie Craig of Pageland, Wayne Craig of Ruby and Irene Hammonds of Ruby. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 15, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 5431 Eubanks Rd., Jefferson.
