Funeral services for Corrie Williams Vincent, 88, of Kershaw will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Buffalo Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Vincent, widow of Benjamin Franklin Vincent died Monday, June 17, 2013, at her home. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Franklin and Lauria Roberts Williams. She worked at Springs Mills, but was mainly a homemaker and loved children. Mrs. Vincent enjoyed working in her garden, tending to flowers in her yard and cooking. Mrs. Vincent was a lifelong member of Buffalo Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities as a nursery worker and assisted with Sun Beams. She and her late husband Frank enjoyed visiting the sick, nursing homes and shut-ins. Surviving are 2 daughters; Debra Dixon (Roger), Ann Hinson (Mike) all of Kershaw, 4 sons; Roger Vincent (Diane) of Myrtle Beach, Jackie Vincent (Kay), Don Vincent (Sue) all of Kershaw, Dale Vincent (Fran) of Heath Springs, 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 2 sisters; Iva Lee Hendrix (Perry) of Kershaw, Mary Catherine “Tootsie” Brannon of Scotch Plains, NJ and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers; John C. Williams, W.L. “Dub” Williams, 4 sisters; Nadie Small, Mabel Byrd, Liza Robinson Baker and Lucille Williams, a grandson; Jonathan R. Vincent and a great grandson; Zachary C. Dixon. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, June 18, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1206 Jones Road, Kershaw. Memorial contributions may be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, 6390 Lockhart Rd., Kershaw, S.C. 29067, Mt. Pisgah –Buffalo Rescue Squad, c/o Ralph Vincent, 1150 Buffalo Creek Rd., Kershaw, S.C. 29067 or Hospice of Tri-County, 2039 W. DeKalb St., Camden, S.C. 29020. The family would also like to thank the caregivers for Mrs. Vincent, Jill, Jean, Amanda and Joyce for the love, care and concern.
