Corine Waters Phillips

Funeral services for Corine Waters Phillips, 93, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Kershaw Second Baptist church. The Revs. Jamie Rogers, Don Knight and Joe Stines will officiate.
Mrs. Phillips died Monday, April 5. Born in Bethune, she was the daughter of the late LaFayette Mendal and Azalee Baker Phillips. She retired from Springs Industries after 42 years of service and was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. She was married to the late Jesse William J.W. Phillips. Mrs. Phillips was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son; Roderick Pete Phillips (Joann) of Kershaw, three daughters; Linda (Nelson) Newman of Bethune, Judy Phillips and her special friend, Leroy Vest of Columbia, Jessie (Stephen) Hunter of Kershaw and a daughter-in-law; Norma L. Phillips of Heath Springs, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a sister; Ruth Taylor of Camden. She was preceded in death by a son; Wayne Phillips.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, April 6, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home.
