Cletus Wade Broughton, 66, of 331 Rowland Avenue, Heath Springs, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at White Oak Manor -Lancaster. A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Broughton was born March 31, 1948, a son of the late Cletus M. Broughton and Mary W. Starnes. He was a mechanic with Dupont Co. and a police officer with the Town of Heath Springs. Mr. Broughton was a member of Pineview Baptist Church and the Baron Masonic Lodge # 261. Surviving are his wife Katherine Robinson Broughton; three sons Brian Broughton and his wife Melanie of Heath Springs, Greg Broughton and his wife Tammie of Heath Springs. Benjie Broughton and his wife Lana of Kershaw; brother Glen Broughton of Camden; sister Glenda Williams and her husband Kenneth of Heath Springs; eight grandchildren Brody, Banks, Eric, Mary Kelsie, Rae Ashlie, Brenna, Owen and Riggs Broughton; uncle Gene Workman and his wife Edith of Lancaster. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Pineview Baptist Church with Reverend Gregory Gunter and Reverend Trent McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites recited by the Baron Lodge #261. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the church Family Life Center and other times at the home of his son Brian, 6526 Flatrock Road, Heath Springs. Memorials may be made to Pineview Baptist Church, Building Fund, 224 Young’s Bend Rd., Kershaw, SC 29067. Honorary pallbearers will be the Don Neal Sunday School Class.
