Cleora Jones

Funeral services for Cleora Estridge Jones, 97 of Bethune, SC will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, in the sanctuary of Timrod Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Revs. Jim Wallace and Todd Montgomery will officiate. Mrs. Jones, widow of Leon Jones died Wednesday evening, April 23, 2014, at her home. Born in Six Mile, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William Franklin and Pearl Harley Blackmon Estridge. Mrs. Jones retired from the Kendall Co. and was a member of Timrod Baptist Church. She loved flowers and gardening. Surviving are a son, Jerry Jones and his wife Glendora of Bethune; 3 daughters, Leonora Kelley of Hartsville, Jean Pate and her husband Cecil of Bethune, Laura Langley of Bethune; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great- great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Iris Estridge. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Teresa Smith for her love and compassion. She was predeceased by a grandson, Darrell Langley, 2 sons-in-law, Jerry Langley and Billy Lee Kelley and 8 siblings. The family will receive friends following the committal service in the church family life center and other times at the home, 4406 Timrod Rd., Bethune. Memorials may be made to Timrod Baptist Church or Hospice of Kershaw County.
