Clayton Stephens

The family will hold a memorial service for Clayton Eugene Stephens, 54 of Kershaw, Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Potters House Independent Baptist Church. Pastor Abbie Wheeler will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Stephens died Friday, January 24, 2014, at his home. Born in Flint, Michigan, he was the son of Shirley Louise Meadows Griffin and the late Clayton Eugene Stephens, Sr. He was employed with A.E. P., Matthews, N.C. He attended Potters House Independent Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking. Surviving in addition to his mother of Kershaw are his daughter, Ashley Ann Stephens of Danville, Illinois; his companion of 5 years, Nancy Sisco; 4 sisters, Susan Ann S. Martin of Monroe, N.C., Sharon Fay Deese of Fort Mill, Debbie Jean S. Sikes and Brenda Deese both of Flint, Michigan; 2 brothers, Robert Lee Gibson of Kershaw and Johnny Ray Stephens of Tazewell, VA. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
