Claude Samuel "Sammy" Bell

Claude Samuel “Sammy” Bell, age 65 of Lake Wateree, passed away, Saturday morning, September 29, 2024, at MUSC Heath Fairfield, Winnsboro, S.C. He was born in Bethesda, Maryland, March 17, 1959, to the late Claude Bell, Jr. and Nancy Reeves Bell. Sammy was employed with the Chester County Wastewater Recovery. He enjoyed camping, where he met and made many friends that turned into family. He was happiest living on the lake. Sammy loved his country and was an avid Gamecock fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Kathy Huffman Bell and her son, Robert Purser and his wife, Ashley and their daughter, Blythe Purser. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Bell and his wife, Donna, 2 sisters, Cindy McWilliams and Terri Kitchen and her husband, Tim, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Danny Sapp, many nieces and nephews and his beloved golden retriever canine companion, Luke.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carroll and Jaye Huffman and his brother-in-law, John McWilliams.

A graveside service to celebrate and remember the life of Mr. Bell will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, in the Oakhurst Baptist Church Cemetery, Heath Springs, S.C. Danny Sapp and the Rev. Sean Stroud will officiate. Burial will follow in the cemetery.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the cemetery.

Memorial remembrances may be made to Oakhurst Baptist Church, 394 Barret Road, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058 in memory of Mr. Bell.

Arrangements are under the care of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw, S.C.
