Clara Mae Self

Funeral services for Clara Mae Payne Self, 74, of Lancaster and formerly of Kershaw will be held at 1:30 P.M., Sunday, May 16, at Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Memorial Park, Lancaster. Rev. Jamie Rogers will officiate.

Mrs. Self died Thursday evening, May 13, at her home. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Claude William and Flossie Phillips Payne. She was a cosmetologist for more than 40 years and a clerk at Riverside Grocery. Mrs. Self was of Baptist faith and enjoyed working. She was married to the late William Clyde Self.

Surviving are her daughter; Debbie Payne and her husband Keith of Kershaw, three grandchildren; Hope Hendrix, Carmen Keith and Cody Payne all of Kershaw, four great grandchildren, a brother; Doug Payne (Judy) of Kershaw, a sister; Evelyn Jones of Lancaster, a sister-in-law; Willie B. Payne of Kershaw and special nephew Brian Payne (Nell) of Columbia.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 15, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, 4774 Payne Road, Kershaw.
