Chieko O. Taylor

Chieko Onuma Taylor, age 88, of Sumter, S.C. and formerly of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Wednesday evening, May 15, 2024, at White Oak Manor, Lancaster. S.C. She was born in Japan.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, in Baker Funeral Home Chapel. She will be laid to rest next her late husband, Ozie Taylor who preceded her in death, September 27, 2008. Burial will follow in Abney Baptist Church cemetery. Rev. Dr. Kenny Catoe will officiate.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of her sister-in-law, Bertha Outen.

Mrs. Taylor was the former co-owner of Kershaw Restaurant, Kershaw, S.C.

She is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Bertha Outen and Mary Gandy and her brother-in-law, Jack Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial remembrances may be made to Abney Baptist Church, 5180 Bethune, Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
