Cheryl S. Baker

Cheryl S. Baker, age 65 of Heath Springs, S.C., passed away, Monday evening, September 16, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kittanning, PA, she was a daughter of Patty Wiser “Pat” Karl and the late James “Jim” Karl. She was a former IT project manager in the insurance industry and most recently prior to retirement she was a product implementation consultant for Manhattan Life Insurance Company. Cheryl was a member of Fork Hill Baptist Church. She loved to travel, especially to the beach. She also enjoyed shopping, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. 

In addition to her mother of Kershaw, S.C., she is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roddy Aaron Baker of the home; 2 sons, Josh Baker and his wife, Caitlin and Matthew Baker and his wife, Shanna all of Heath Springs, S.C.; her daughter, Susie Baker of Heath Springs, S.C.; 4 grandchildren, Jake Baker, Luke Baker, Ella Wren Baker and Ella Rose Baker and her brother, Kevin Karl and his wife, Toni of Irmo, S.C. 

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday afternoon, September 19, 2024, at 2:00 o’clock p.m. in the sanctuary of Fork Hill Baptist Church, 1125 Fork Hill Road, Heath Springs, S.C. 29058. Rev. Adam Furr will officiate.

The family will gather informally following the service on the front lawn of the church to greet friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lancaster & The Piedmont, 901 West Meeting Street, Suite 104, Lancaster, S.C. 29720.
