A service of remembrance for Charles Thomas Charlie Johnson, 60, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 8, 2008 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Todd Gandy will officiate.
Mr. Johnson died Tuesday evening, November 4, 2008, in Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Walter Hazel, Sr. and Bernice Elvira Helms Johnson. Mr. Johnson was an auto body repairman. He was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters; Dawn Cullen of Atlanta, Georgia, Heather Johnson of Columbia, Kayla Johnson of Kershaw, step-son; Scott Helms of Kershaw, three grandchildren; Andrew Helms, Micah Helms and Hunter Roberts, four sisters; Eva J. Rose of Summerville, Florida, Jane Elizabeth J. Piercy of Heath Springs, Frances Oleson of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Mary Brenda J. Mackey of Heath Springs, three brothers; Lawrence Allen Johnson, Michael Henry Johnson, both of Lancaster and Earl Bruce Johnson of Heath Springs. He was preceded in death by a sister; Bobbie Ann J. Croxton, and three brothers; James Curtis Johnson, Sr., Walter Hazel Johnson, Jr. and Lewis Patrick Johnson. Also surviving is his former wife; Debbie Johnson of Kershaw.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home or at the home of his sister; 6728 Beacher Horton Road, Heath Springs.
