Funeral services for Charles Edward “Charlie” Williams, 51, of Kershaw will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012 in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Sam Kennington will officiate. Mr. Williams will be cremated and interred in the Kershaw City Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Williams died Sunday, January 29, unexpectedly in Stonewall, LA while on his job. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late James E. and Mary Pauline Rider Williams. He was a truck driver with Risinger Transfer Co. and was the former owner of Williams Tree Service and a former employee of Bowater. He was also a member of Buffalo Baptist Church and loved to fish. He especially enjoyed going to flea markets and auctions. Surviving are his daughter, Ashley Craig (Casey); his son, Brandon Williams; 3 grandchildren, Austin Craig, Kaleb Craig and Abigail Craig all of Kershaw; 3 sisters, Vicky Broome (Ronnie) of Kershaw, Sharon Nobles (Mike) of Kershaw, Paula Truesdale (Lowell) of Westville , a brother, John Williams of Kershaw and his former wife, Cindy Kennington Williams of Kershaw. The family will receive friends, Thursday, February 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, 701 Scout Cabin Rd., Kershaw. Memorial contributions may be made to Baker Funeral Home, 210 E. Hilton St, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 at the family’s request to help with funeral expenses.
