Carolyn June Cauthen Reeves, 86, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Monday morning, December 6, 2021, at White Oak Manor Lancaster, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Heath Springs, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Clyburn Cauthen and Tcora McMurray Cauthen. Mrs. Reeves was a beloved caregiver for many years. She was currently a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Heath Springs, S.C. and a former member of Center Grove Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. She loved traveling to the beach and music. For many years she was a music leader and choir member. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Edgar Reeves, her son, Berry Eugene Reeves; 4 brothers, Edwin Cauthen, Ray “Buck” Cauthen, Olin Cauthen, Jerry “Chicken” Cauthen and 2 sisters, Eleanor Evans and Brenda Burns.
She is survived by 4 children, Linda (Larry) Payne of Kershaw, S.C., Gary (Kelly Porter) Reeves of Lancaster, S.C., Lisa Young of Westville, S.C. and Michelle (Tommy) McManus of Heath Springs, S.C., 13 grandchildren, Shannon Roberts, Amber Seegars, Ashleigh Helms, Deanna Payne Gorham, Chad Reeves, Mandy McClellion, Cody Ann Reeves, Victoria Rogers, Rebecca Reeves, Dillon Young, Matthew McManus, Katelin McManus and Luke McManus; 18 great grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law, Linda Cauthen and Aurelia Reeves.
The family will greet friends, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service in the Family Life Center of Flint Ridge Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Reeves will be conducted, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Heath Springs, S.C. The Revs. Steve Miller and Kelvin Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershaw, S.C.
