A gathering to celebrate the life of Carol Hinson Bowers, 69 of Heath Springs, will be held at 5:00 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home, Kershaw. Burial will be private in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the gathering beginning at 4:00 o’clock p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bowers, widow of Raeford M. Bowers passed away at her home, Sunday evening, April 17. Born in the Haile Gold Mine community of Kershaw, she was a daughter of the late Hazel and Florence Willis Hinson. Mrs. Bowers retired from L & C where she was involved in passenger car restoration. She also was a former employee of the Town of Kershaw and was co-owner of C & R Construction. Mrs. Bowers enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra B. Luz and her husband Tony of Heath Springs, Amy Lynn Bowers of Kershaw; two grandchildren, Brian and Tina; a sister, Nancy Pate and her husband Pete of Kershaw; a brother, Ronnie Hinson and his wife Nadine of Camden. She was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell T. Bowers and three brothers, Julius Hinson, Junior Hinson and Wendell Hinson.
