Carol Holden Taylor, age 84, of the White Bluff community, Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Friday evening, September 15, 2023, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Amzie Alex Holden and Leslie Hinson Holden. She was a graduate of Flat Creek High School and a member of White Bluff Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the cafeteria at Andrew Jackson High School. Mrs. Taylor enjoyed searching for arrowheads, traveling, all animals and spending time with her family.


She is survived by her son, Christopher “Chris” Taylor and his wife, Carolyn; her daughter, Michelle Self; six grandchildren, Brian Baskins, Daniel Taylor, Ashley McCain, Carmen Taylor, and Shannon Thomas; eleven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sandra Holden and two nephews, Dwight Holden, and Kevin Holden. She is also survived by a special friend of 35 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Taylor, her son, Steve Taylor and her brother, Bernard Holden.


The Taylor family will receive friends, Monday evening, September 18, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.


Her funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon, September 19, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of White Bluff Baptist Church. The Revs. Doug Humphries and Todd Montgomery will officiate. A burial will follow in Blackmon Cemetery following the service.


Memorials may be made to White Bluff Baptist Church, 3473 Mining Road, Kershaw, S.C. 29067.
