Carl E. Faulkenberry

Carl Eugene Faulkenberry, age 88, of Kershaw, S.C., loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away, Sunday evening, October 8, 2023, at his home. Born in Kershaw, S.C., he was a son of the late Samuel Faulkenberry and Minnie Williams Faulkenberry. Mr. Faulkenberry retired from E.I. Dupont de Nemours and Company. Following his retirement, he worked for Lancaster County at the Fork Hill Road Convenience Site and later served as a funeral assistant for Baker Funeral Home. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Abney Masonic Lodge # 211 being inducted in 1964. He loved his family and enjoyed traveling and eating out.


He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Annie Mae Deese Faulkenberry; his daughter, Debbie F. Bowers and her husband, Mike of Kershaw, S.C.; his daughter-in-law, Daisy Faulkenberry of Camden, S.C.; his stepchildren, Ronnie Roberts and his wife, Susan of Pageland, S.C., Melvin Roberts and his wife, Jayne of Marianna, FL, Lurie Roberts and his wife, Sandy of Lexington, S.C. and Janice Brock and her husband, Tony of Pageland, S.C.; 4 grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and his brother, Raycine Faulkenberry of Lancaster, S.C.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Barbara Stroud Faulkenberry, his son, Gene Faulkenberry and siblings, Jeanette Dease, Annie Ruth Robinson, Cletis Faulkenberry, Grover Faulkenberry, J.W. Faulkenberry, Randolph Faulkenberry and William Faulkenberry.


The family will receive friends, Wednesday evening, October 11, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.


A funeral service to remember his life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday morning, October 12, 2023, from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. The Revs. Eric Boone and Dr. Jackie Jenkins will conduct the service. The burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery with masonic rites by Abney Lodge # 211.
