Funeral services for Buddie Graham Watson, 75, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2011, in the Chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery. Rev. Howard Brown will officiate. Mr. Watson died Sunday, July 10, 2011, in White Oak Manor- Lancaster. Born in Kershaw, he was the son of Henry Graham and Mary Olive W. Watson. He was retired from The Dupont Co., a member of First Baptist Church, Abney Masonic Lodge # 211 and a Shriner. He also enjoyed fishing, especially at the beach and hunting. Mr. Watson was a former member of the Kershaw Fire Department where he volunteered for many years and served four terms on the Kershaw Town Council serving as mayor pro-tem during one of those terms. He was a graduate of Kershaw High School and loved to play sports and was a member of the 1951Kershaw High School State Championship Football Team. Surviving are 2 brothers; Billy Watson (Nancy), Doug Watson (Sandra), sister; Myra West (Johnny) all of Kershaw and his longtime friend; Geraldine Moran of Kershaw and her children, Judy Kemp (Steve) of Mt. Pleasant, Patricia Beckham (Martin) of Elgin and their daughter Lauren Beckham. He was preceded in death by a sister; Mary Lou Watson. The family will receive friends Tuesday July 12, prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. The families are at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to Kershaw Fire Department, Post Office Box, 145, Kershaw, S.C. 29067 or Alzheimer’s Association, Post Office Box 96011, Washington, D.C., 20090-6011.
