Brenda Horton Gentry

A funeral service for Brenda Horton Gentry, 76, of Kershaw, SC, will be held at 4:00 o’clock p.m., Friday, April 14, 2017, in the sanctuary of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. Rev. Ronnie Hinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

Ms. Gentry died Monday, April 10, 2017, in Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia, SC. Born in the Flat Creek Community of Lancaster Co., she was a daughter of the late William H. “Bunk” and Ruth Twitty Horton. She was a caregiver and a faithful member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church. She also enjoyed bowling and singing.

Surviving are her sister, Diane H. Deese and her husband “Sambo” of Kershaw, SC; her brother, Doug Horton and his wife Loretta of West Columbia, SC; 4 nieces, Carolyn Gentry, Sheila Horton, Angie Austin and Crystal Deese; a number of great nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dawn Elizabeth Horton and a nephew.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 14, 2017, from 3:00 to 4:00 o’clock p.m. in the church Family Life Center.
