Brenda Gay Sims

Brenda Gay Sims, 79, of Kershaw, S.C., passed away, Monday evening, June 5, 2023, at MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center, Lancaster, S.C. Born in Lancaster, S.C. She was a daughter of the late Curtis Clyde Gay and Grace Vernon Hasty Gay. Brenda was a member of Kershaw Second Baptist Church, Kershaw, S.C. She enjoyed playing the piano, traveling, and shopping. She got much joy from sending cards to friends for all occasions. Brenda was an office accountant for Quality Appliances for 40 plus years.

She is survived by her brother, Wayne Gay of Kershaw, S.C., her son-in-law, Shane Hinson of Kershaw, S.C., special friends, Paul Connell and Peggy Bowers and her special niece, Donna S. Helms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wendell Sims in 2008 and her daughter, Tammy Sims Hinson in 2017.

Friends may pay their respects, Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 11:00 o’clock a.m., Friday morning, June 9, 2023, in Baker Conference Center, 105 N. Minor Street., Kershaw, S.C. The Revs. Bryant D. Fersner and Ronnie Hinson will officiate. A burial will follow in Kershaw City Cemetery.
