Bonnie Lou Snipes

A service of worship remembering the life of Bonnie Lou Ellis Snipes, age 83, of Kershaw, S.C., will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Kershaw Church of God. Pastor Brandon Skipper and Pastor Tommy Suttle will officiate.

The family will greet friends following the service in the church Family Life Center.

Mrs. Snipes, loving wife of the late Bishop James Crawford Snipes passed away peacefully, Monday, December 19, 2022, at her home. Born in Kershaw, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Ellis and Leila Viola Phillips Ellis. She was a former employee of Springs Industries and a member of Kershaw Church of God.

She is survived by her children, James Howard (Andrea) Snipes of Cowpens, S.C., Carla Yvonne Snipes Douglas of Helen, GA. and Sheila Ann Snipes (Glenn) McGuire of Kershaw, S.C.; 8 grandchildren, James, Kimberly, Christy, Kari, Cassie, T.J., Payje and Tesia; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson and 2 sisters, Ruth Williams and Diane (James) Sims both of Kershaw, S.C. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Mary Diane Snipes Ross and Wanda Carol Snipes Brooks and siblings, Elizabeth Waites, Iva Mae Bowers, Vera Langley, Vivian Cauthen, Margie Conyers, Gene Ellis and L.J. Ellis.
